For whatever reason, Boxing Day is always a big deal for my family. In no particular order, our accomplishments from this year’s boxing day:
- wrote thank-you letters to the Krampus for not punishing us this Christmas
- had a weenie roast in the backyard
- took turns wearing each others’ clothes and making humorous new year’s resolutions (in the voice of the person whose clothes we were wearing)
- took turns making serious new year’s predictions for world events / the global economy
- turned all the clocks an hour ahead to see if any of us would forget and be pranked
- hosted a 3-on-3 basketball tournament
- splurged on the Auntie Anne’s family pack and ate our pretzels together as a family in the Kenwood mall food court
- wore our supreme professional Crest Whitestrips (only available through your dental professional) for a half an hour in the morning and evening
- watched a movie from the Mission Impossible franchise
- watched the first nine episodes of Pan Am, now available for free download on iTunes! Gotta catch ‘em all!
Also, while it wasn’t technically a full family event, I spent a significant portion of time explaining to everyone how Doug Moe is a bad dad.
